from my attic window (note neighbours washing..that's not going to be dry any time soon) - usually you can see the cathedral up on the hill but it's too snowy.. yay!!

and my son who came running into me (quite concerned!) this morning shouting 'quick mummy look - what's that on the roof?' but is now welll and truly enjoying his first proper snow and building a snowman in the back garden

not quite a white christmas but the closest it's been over here in a while!

Looks nice where you are! We got the snow too but Leicester is in a valley so whatever snow you get just turns into muck as soon as it lands as we're a bit warmer and not as exposed as you are in Lincs.

I love your house though!! :)

this is the first time in 4 years it's settled here i think too, as usually we're the same and it's just sludge after half an hour! although i can already here the familiar dripping sound so i think the snowman will be gone by tomorrow.... ah well, at least he had a go!

oh and thanks lei  - it's getting there slowly!

I am so happy you got your wish.

I live in Texas and the high was like 65. Bright and sunny here and no where near getting snow like that!!!!

Yay, Harriet:clapping: And what a present for your little boy!! Save that picture and put it on next year's Christmas cards.

It is unseasonably warm here this week in the 50s, however, we will be getting a blast of cold air coming down from Canada next week. This warm weather will give me time to take down Christmas decorations.

Oh let's not get into the subject of taking down the decorations......I just hate packing all the wonderful things away for a whole year!!!

My son started school this year and made me all these wonderful little ornaments.......

mine too! there is glitter in everything but it's all good!

i am actully taking back my wish as it is freezing fog and ice underneath the snow now.. but at least it forces me to get on with work as i daren't leave the house for fear of falling over

How pretty!! Love the pic of your son rushing out in the snowy outdoors!!

We have had record highs in my part of Canada this year. Haven't seen snow in weeks. It was definitely a very brown Christmas!!

Ironically, we had lots of snow on the ground here (near Niagara Falls) until Christmas when it started to rain and is now almost gone. As hard as it is for me to get enthused about snow during our 6 month winters, it is nice to have it for Christmas -- looks very Dickensian on the Victorian red brick houses Harriet!

Oh how scenic! So did your little boy make a snowman?

They interviewed someone from the UK on the TV news about the snow, and he said it was SO cold, it was "just like the Arctic". It was -2 C (which is just below freezing). It was really funny to us. But then they switched to the Arctic where it was -8 C and everyone was out enjoying themselves.

We had snow the entire Christmas as usual. It warmed up and we got freezing rain and some of the snow melted, but not all of it.

i can just imagine the tv interview! i think it is true everyone here longs for snow at christmas and then moans like fury when they get it. as well as buying ALL the bread and milk they can for fear they won't be able to get through 2 inches of snow to the shop (and i can say that as i am guilty too!)

he did build a snowman...

(note dog seizing chance to escape)

and now it's back to grey and rainy :(
