I have a suit, German made, need translation

I have a vintage suit, with a German label(Tailor is: Leineweber). I've on-line translated it, however, the last word just doesn't seem to fit?

das haus das jeden anzieht = the house (that) everyone tightens

I'm still trying to figure out if it is 30's 40's 50's 60's ??? :o

The material is very irredescent = sharkskin? Wide, medium padded shoulders, the sleeve seam is heavy padding. Slight tapered waist. (need to find a better tie!)

The pants have 3/4 front lining, a belt 'holder-in-place' thingy? at the front waistband. Stay tape on the bottom hem(16½" around), and leather/shammy 'shirt-stay-tucked-in' on the inside waistband.
 
That's a handsome suit - I have found a few pieces here by German tailors, and the worksmanship was excellent. I would say it's 50s due to the 3 button front, the lapel width and the fabric.

That is a strange translation!

Maybe the word means two different things...

A friend of mine speaks German but he is away so i cannot ask him!

There are a lot of three buttons that are cuspers too. I have had quite a few from 60-62, but would agree with Hollis on this one.

My German might not be so good but....

'das haus das' means "the house that"......'jaden' means "each/every" and I think 'anzieht' means "to dress" or "pull on clothes".

So I think it means... The house that dresses each one. (The house the dresses everyone.) Probably refering to custom tailoring. I get the feeling they were a highend shop & wanted each person to feel special. I hope that makes sense.

Thank-you I was going to just go with 'sharkskin' anyway, but glad to know that it can be called that.

I do like typing your name! :USING: It's one of the few times I can talk outloud to myself and not get weird looks!
