As someone whose favorite spot used to be libraries, the internet remains a treasure trove for me. Of course I never have enough time to really examine the offerings, and senior that I am, I forget about the good sites.
Anyway - Colonial Williamsburg has put images on line HERE I typed the word "silk" in the search line and got more than 300 photos.
Here are a few samples. I wish the photos were a bit sharper.

And this amazing gown from Europe
There were quite a few wonderful aprons
and a boy's coat.
