Thanks for the help!!! Ang

I think that metal rod heel first shows up around 1980 ish.... but I am not sure, it might be a little earlier, but not much earlier. They aren't pre 1978, that's for sure.

Cool. I sort of wondered 80s, and actually that will likely be more the type of shoe that a person looking for 80s shoes would expect. I like "rod heel", perfect way to describe it. Its always so hard to change up thinking when dealing with SO many shoes from an estate that are older, you tend to get to assuming they ALL are.

Thanks! Ang

If you are looking for KW's then I do believe "Metal Spike Stiletto" is searched more than "Metal Rod."

Even better - "Metal Spike Stiletto 80s Disco Heels"

I see that the heel on the front shoe in your first image is not sitting flush to the surface its on, like the one in the back.

Is it just some weird illusion from the photo or is there something wrong with the shoe?

I was going to sell a pair of cool early 80's boots last month and noticed one heel was slightly off. Upon closer inspection, I realized the last near the heel was breaking and that was that. I had already taken photos, edited them, posted them, measured the boots, and cleaned them before I noticed it.

In the corner box they went! :sniff:
