I need a hand please....

Seriously! or even two!

My manni's hand broke ...literally! It fell on the floor and all broke in pieces! Even the metal prongs that formed the fingers broke. It was injured before that but now it is beyond repair!

I need the old kind that has a metal ball on the end that slides into the arm and then twists to lock into place.

There are a couple different kinds but I have 4 different manniequins of that sort so hopefully they would fit on of them!

Yes 4 mannequins and only 1 hand...damn!

Keep an eye out on eBay under collectables: Advertising: Displays: Mannequins (I think that is the category link) as they show up occasionally, but they often go pretty high in price. I think a lot of people drop their hands (I know I have dropped one hand 3 times of one of my mannequins!)

Thanks! I have been looking but no luck yet! I have a box of hands somewhere (God only knows where) but if I remember they were pretty much damaged and I took them thinking I could use them for a Halloween display!

If I could just find them maybe somehow I could rebuild them??? Some plaster and paint???

Even if they are dented, a handle of a handbag, or maybe scarf in hand would cover the damage. Or you might not see it in the pic as you would not be close enough.

Well that acutally have sections broke off and some of the fingers are just the metal prong. I thinking maybe I can plaster them back into shape if I dont find any!

I need a hand please....

Nuts man!! Where's the little clapping emoticon!! I wanted to "give you a hand" :P

I've been looking for hands too. Poor 'ol Bald Betty is also of the handless persuasion

There is a lady in Flagstafff that does mannequin repair. She's pretty reasonable. Let me know if you want her phone number. She fixed my ex's hand. My ex-mannequin who creeped out our entire household.

Hi Kelly,

Do you know if she sells spare parts?? I am in need of both hands for Bald Betty.

As a temporary fix you could possibly use gloves filled with tissue and cotton wool anf fix it to the arm with velcro or better, masking tape so it won't pull of the flesh paintwork

Hi Anne!

I have gloves on her right now but couldn't figure out what to stuff them with. Cotton!!! You're so smart! That's what I'll use.

Thanks!!!

Kelly ~

REALLY? What did she look like that it creeped people out? was it her expression? or was she too realistic looking?

I was going to have to put my girl somewhere else because my husband was freaked about her, but now that she is up, he is more used to her. My mother-in-law and aunt in law saw her and said "oh she is lovely, don't move her!" LOL

So i guess it is three (or 4!) against one.

Sorry to hijack, Queenie!

Susan, I would try the glove thing out for some outfits just to try it.

Does your manni have a company name anywhere to try and match up a hand that would fit her?

The mannequin repair shop is called Mannequin Recovery and her number is 928-526-9194. The woman probably has parts.

When decided I wanted a mannequin I called every antique in the area and finally found one. You can't imagine how shocked I was to see a mannequi repair shop in this area. We have to drive to Flagstaff just to get to a Target. She fixed my mannequin's hand which I dropped every time I used her.

The mannequin was just so tall and hard to dress. I kept her in the back room and she's scare the heck out of people who weren't expecting her. We dressed her up last Halloween for one last hurrah then I sold her on Ebay. SHe was very pretty.

That is surprsing what you will find. i live in the boonies and was surprised that there is a shop that repairs grandfather clocks. not that i have one.

I guess that would be shocking to find if you are not expecting a manniquin to be standing there. My girl is 5' 10" and any taller she would be too tall.
