I need help with dating Levis type 1 jacket

Hello. I'm getting conflicting dates on my jacket and I'm hoping you all can help me sort it. I've put the basic images up. Important stuff to note; I've owned this since the early 70's and can absolutely state that I've never altered it in any way. There is no red tag, never was. It's slightly bigger, approx 42" chest. The leather patch eventually disintegrated in the wash. I have a date/age in my head and I'd love to be definitively proven right or wrong.
Many thanks

Yes, that's where my rabbit hole began too. Based on that article mine should be the rare 1928. I contacted the guy that was in the comments at the bottom and at first he was helpful and positive. Then as I sent in more pics he story changed, and changed, and changed. It went from 'I really want it' and it's 1936 to 'it's only post WW2 and worth much less'. He's trying me for a fool. Which makes me think it really is the rare one. I just wish I could find a definite answer, but I think the wolves will come out then!

Yep. Levi's used to have a museum and an historian on site to curate. I would recommend emailing them. I have no idea if it has survived, but years ago I used to just pop in (it was free and in a weird location) to ogle. I am mistrustful when someone offers to buy and then tells me what I have isn't as special. There is a lot of info out there on Levi's, luckily!

Their historian of renown retired about, I wanna say, 5 or so years ago. I have no idea now who's their historian.

I've thought of that. I can't find an email unless it related to working there. I sent a message on Insta but really doubt I'll hear back.
