I need some dress help!

First let me say that I am ironing the dress and taking the pictures over before I list THIS AUCTION again.

Is the dress supposed to be worn with a crinoline underneath? The length makes me think late 40's, but the shelf bust treatment is saying 50's...

Any help would be greatly appreciated......SWING???

I'm sure pressing will make a difference. The dress has loads of potential. Just a few suggestions.... You know, I found it hard on the eyes to read the pink writing on the pink background. And is that a typo - "pin hold"? It's a little hard to make out the hole - maybe show it next to a coin or eraser to get a sense of the size? Good luck! Amanda

I'm not much help with dating, but I do think the dress looks much better without the crinoline (and suspect I would think so even if the crinoline was the "right" length!)

The closeup of the pleated panel in front is great--maybe give that (and the closeup of the bust treatment) prominent placement in the picture queue, since those are such attractive (and unique) features of the dress (aside from the fab color, that is!)

good luck with it!

yep, i agree w/the late 40's, too, and swing is a good descriptor, but Big Band might hit it even more true as it indicates a more sophisticated style. i also agree that it looks better w/out the crinoline, especially since its not the same length, as you say in your script

"which was too short for the dress and it makes the skirt look wierd,":hysterical:

this looks like a GORGEOUS dress, but its sorta distracting with the hand-less arms in front of it...can you pop your arms off and take a shot of it just on the body?

on my full skirt dresses i try to clip or pin (w/a rubberband) the hem and then lift it up to either a door knob or something higher to give the buyer an idea of just how full it is, and add the measurement around the hem so they know how much it will twirl when they spin on the dance floor!

looks like you've got a beauty!

good luck w/her!
