Now what do I do??? I have this gorgeous 40's plum colored crepe dress and there was some type of small spot on the back of the sleeve and a took a WET cloth to it to see if I could remove it and it left a dark spot from the water! (That is a camera spot on the front of the dress)

So should I try and "mist" the sleeve or what do I do know??

oh dear l would go to the dry cleaners..as a resort to save it...if you have a steamer though...it should loosen the mark and you should be able to dab it off? of course we dont know what the mark is...a piece of squeeshed up bread, dough like couldnt do any harm either could it?
it looks a lovely dress too...

Well I don't think the dry cleaner will take out the water mark. I did this one other time (see I told you I should have know better) so what I did was I "misting the whole dress with a water bottle and when it dried you could not see it. This dress is just so damn beautiful I hate to make it worse!

The little spot was not really that noticeable and I should have just left it alone!

Beautiful dress! I feel for you - I've had some terrilbe mishaps with water as well. I started using Ez-Ze Spot Remover a while back on delicate colourfast fabrics and it works quite well. You work on the spot and just let it dry and no water is required. It's not environmentally friendly thou as it contains naphtha.

Would it be possible to reconstruct the sleeve if all else fails?

No I don't tink you could reconstruct the sleeve. The worst thing is it did not even take the stupid spot out!!

I will have to try something as the dress is beautiful and nice size! Maybe when I get home tonight I will try misting it and say a prayer to St. Zita while I am at it!

Crepe shrinks rather badly. I think what you have is a tide mark from dirt or cleaning fluid that was already in the fibers. Misting may just spread the tide mark further out. A non water based spot cleaner may help. Or a really good drycleaners.

Um...wonder if that dry cleaning solvent that comes with the dryell would work to get rid of the "tide mark"....I know it is liquid but maybe there is something unique about it....I know I have a bottle of it somewhere.
