I swear hurt vintage gets more attention than perfect vintage

This has happened often when I list something with acknowledged problems. I list it "as is" and describe the problems thoroughly, and show lots of pictures of the problems. Immediately I get a lot of watchers and a bid or two. I don't seem to get that much attention on the better stuff I list.

For example, this dress:

Purple velvet gown

Firstly...issues or no...i think it is stunning. I can imagine if a short gal bought it, 38 inches below the waist would be plenty skirt length. (or maybe they would try to darn it or add an insert.

I think the low starting bid contributed to the watchers. BUT I really don't get it though why somethings like this really go and then something in pristine condition doesn't attract as much attention. The only thing i can think of is that people like to gamble. Or maybe they collect buttons.
