I think I hit the jackpot! Date help, please!

This is one of a dozen "finds" I picked up yesterday.

No manufacturer label. No size tag. Nothing on the inside. Metal zipper in back. Sweet rhinestones on the sleeves. I'm thinking it is about a medium-large in todays sizing.

50's??

And what "kind" of dress would this be or how would you describe it?

Oooh, I can't belive all the goodies I found. Metal zip huge skirts (heavy and reversable). And a lace top, chiffon bottom, metal zippered dress that is generously sized.

I'll be needing more help for all of these amazing finds! Thanks in advance!

I'm hearing "Lucy, Lucy"! Very cute 50's dress, and I would go with the Lucille Ball angle, play up the bust and neckline detailing, the bows, and the rhinestones, and the fact that it's a wearable larger size. A winner!
Are you able to determine the fabrications? Can you describe, or take close-up pictures of the textiles?

The texture of the fabric looks linen from the pictures.. do you think it is?

i love the curved detail under the bust, almost bib-like.. and the little bows.. but the sleeves! ohhh.. beautiful!

what a beautiful dress! I would have done the same thing, paid too much just to posess it.

That is a super cute dress! I would venture that this is late 50s maybe even very early 60s. The fabric appears to be linen. With the rhinestone details, I would market as more of a cocktail dress. I wonder if you could consider that a shelf-bust with the seam under the bust the way it is?

That might be a linen-weave rayon instead of pure linen, sometimes it's hard to tell.

I think it might be a rayon-linen blend, too. Not sure about the fiber content of the sleeves!
