With my sewing project - repairing a 1940's suit - I've a box of dress patterns with a couple of sewing books. On inspection, bearing in mind I'd not really looked at them for 20 odd years, I found that one of them is a 1942 'Modern Pattern Design'. I thought wow! But further web research shows you can download it for free!
But I don't mind, I'm glad Ive got an original! Another couple of books I've got are mid 30s, although some amazon/ebayers think it's 40s or even 50s.. (They're 'Modern Needlework' and 'The Housewife's book')
All I've left to do now on my suit is move the buttons but also learn how to mend moth holes but it'll be a while before that's done...
edit (...am 'new' to all this plethora of vintage things, I've just hoarded stuff over the years and am aghast at what's out there...)
