I want to learn more about these items

This older man in his 50s gave me 9 boxes of fabrics, trims, and supplies. His mom was 93 and living by herself, they worried about her and sold her house so that she could move in with one of her sons. She was an avid sewer and had incredible taste for fabric and such. There are too many interesting stuff for me to take pictures of it all. But i did take some. Some of them had the company name on it but google could only tell me so much. I'm taking a big guess when i say i think its from the 1950s-1980s. All i could find was when the company itself opened and closed. If anybody could help me maybe telling me more information or direct me somewhere where i can find more information of where it came from and when. I want to learn more about them and if its at all valuable? Thank you.

Those are beautiful trims. I would guess that they are 60s era.
Are you able to discern the prices on the stickers?

That Utica sheet looks 70s to 80s.
The items appear to be a mix, ranging from 60s to 80s, most likely.

Yes there is a price on them i dont think it showed up on the pictures. ^_^ they are truly beautiful and where can you find trim now a days for 49 cents! Haha :)

Thank you for your help! :)

That totally tells you they're older. As well, the nice quality!
Happy to help!

When i saw the price i said it has to be old. :) nowhere can you find trim for .49 cents or a bunch of fabric for 2 dollars! I also found a pretty nifty belt. No tags on it or anything. Do you happen to know if its vintage? Such a beautiful design! :)

Ah it was in a van raalte glove wrap. I tried looking up vintage belts but didnt see anything similar. But i did find some nifty crochet gloves in one box just now. All these things are just so beautiful! This all really made me want to collect more vintage items! They are just so interesting and some even have great stories of where they came from and when that store opened. Amazing! If only prices were that cheap now! ^_^ some of the stuff i have been browsing on this site is truly amazing! Maybe i was meant to be a 60s child and not the 90s! :)

I think you've caught the vintage bug Kimmie!

Oh, probably using that outer bag for storage then, and it helped keep the belt in very nice condition.
Thought it might have given a little clue.

Mary Jane makes a great point, about the range of the popularity of those type of belts. In fact, you might still be able to find similar, but of course, we prefer the older ones.

Those crochet gloves are wonderful!

You are lucky, Kimmie, as you can enjoy so many wonderful decades of vintage.

You really did get some lovely trims. Those belts were popular for quite some time...I think originally they were out in the 1970s during the disco era.

Thank you Mary Jane! It's very interesting and amazing to find more and more about the items I have. I hope to run into more down the line! I just wish I could have been at the yard sale he had to score more goodies! I cant even imagine what was at the yard sale if this was the leftovers! :)

Yes, I was really hoping that the wrapper had more information on it! If i checked correctly Van Raalte was a pretty big glove company that was opened in 1907 ? Ah! I wish I had a pair of those! :) but yes, the crochet ones are so cute! I wish it fit me but considering women were much smaller then, there's no way it would fit on my chubby hands ^_^

Hope everyone has an amazing and beautiful 4th of july, and wherever you are, keep cool because it's pretty darn hot and humid out here in northern VA! :)
