Hello, I was told that these were field work boots. The tag said early 19th century but I am thinking it should have said early early 1900s.
I think they are from around the 20s. What do you think?
Jonathan, I was trying to research these and I looked up the rubber soles tite edge. I came up with the date that Tite edge became trademarked which was in 1949. Does this mean the boots are newer than I thought, maybe that the rubber heels were replaced, or that tite edge rubber heels were around long before being trademarked?
Yes, these date sometime between 1918 and 1940. I looked at the website in your link and it says the trademark was registered in 1947 but it was first used in 1917.
