Ideas about dates for this Welsh tapestry coat?

Hi there

I’ve fallen in love with this Welsh tapestry coat but have been debating probable dates. I thought 70s, largely based on colours (I seem to recall a lot of browns and orange tones) but I could be wrong!

what do people think?

I LOOOVE Welsh tapestry, and that's a very shapely coat. Some Welsh tapestry garments can be a bit fuddy-duddy but that looks fab, and so do you!

it must be post-1964 becuase of the Woolmark. You may be right on 70s... , or late 60s? any care labels?

Welsh tapestry coats, ponchos, capes, skirts, and suits were HUGEly popular in the early 70s. My mom loved them and I have one of her suits, which was a Christmas gift to her from my father in 1975, which was perhaps around the end of the peak in its popularity. I would say your jacket is in the 1971 - 1975 time frame, which was when Welsh tapestry was at its peak.

I love Welsh tapestry too …I’ve been after one for a while! No care labels just the label in the photos!
