identify label and date skirt

what is the name on this label? any idea of date?

It's a hard label to read, and I'm not familiar with it, but the skirt is a distinctive style and I date it to about 1980-1983.

It reads as 'Marliess' to me...if that's any help?! I reasoned that the two stalks could only be i or l and the one with the swirl must be more than the l so I think it is a stylised dot. Also it sounds more italian that way...!
