Identify the fur on a fur cape - thank you

I wish to identify this cape which was my Grandmas

I thought it was mink

I don't think that is mink it might be muskrat. Wait to hear from our fur expert.

Yes when its day light in the morning ill take a photo in the back garden
i would say in about 3 hours time it should be light enough outside

Thank you for those. It looks like fitch that was dyed darker to look like sable. I'm not 100% sure it is fitch only because I see some glossiness in your images that I don't normally see in fitch. This could be due to it being dyed darker and/or the way the light hits it in the images. It's definitely not sable, just not 100% sure of it being fitch, again only because of the glossiness. Fitch looks similar to mink too, just with longer guard hair and the fur doesn't feel exactly the same.
Here's a blonde fitch fur coat that I had. The color is obviously much lighter but the pattern is close to an exact match on the top and bottom. There are variations in the pattern throughout the middle of the coat because more fitch pelts were used.

and i was lost
its a beautiful cape though

thank you for telling me you have been a great help to my mind
because i didn't think the shape of the pelts was muskrat
but i don't know a thing about furs i just like animals

and wow that coat is beautiful <3
