I would like to support my VFG friends and reduce or eliminate my e-bay purchases.

Please advise where I can shop with the following info:

Type mdse: vintage apparel, couture, accessories, patterns, etc.
Price ranges and quality.

Many thanks, Claire Shaeffer

I'm glad I saw your post Claire,

I'm working on my web site and it is imperative that I know how to best market myself to be found by buyers. It's a huge undertaking, one that I had left up to Ebay until now.

I'm looking at working out a search in my own store and filters for price, condition, etc. was not something I had considered.

I can't be of any help, but I appreciate the help you've given me~

I know Specialist Auctions has a dedicated vintage section but off the top of my head cannot remember what filters are available for search.

Claire, I'm selling original vintage patterns (not just reproductions/copies) through my website http://www.vintagefashionlibrary.com. Prices start at $9, with most of them around the $15 or $20 mark.

I've listed around 30 patterns on my site so far, and I add more several times a week. I've got a few hundred patterns to sell.

Not everyone at the VFG is leaving or cutting back on their eBay listings!

I happen to have the (currently unpopular) belief that many of eBay's recently announced changes will be good for my customers and good for my business, so I am staying put!

I hope that you will shop with sellers you trust and enjoy buying from, such as all these great VFG'ers that uphold terrific standards of honesty and integrity ... no matter where they sell.

Thank you!

Hey man, don't leave ebay just yet, not everyone's in a panic to jump ship! There's still some pretty fantastic sellers (cough cough) still staying there (wink wink). ;)

Claire, if you sign up for the newsletter ( on the Contact Us page) on my website you'll get our monthly inventory updates.

Some VFG sellers have decided to open on Specialist Auctions as another place to branch out to. We have items in all price ranges, eras and we have several sellers that sell patterns. You may search via our clothing vintage and antique in the search bar or choose to click on stores and then clothing vintage and antique. We've not left ebay in a panic to jump ship, but to provide ourselves more opportunites. You would be a welcome shopper. :)

Hiya Claire,
I'm over on Mainstreet, where I sell both vintage clothing, shoes and patterns:
www.damngoodvintage.com

Patterns are all original, I think I've got about 125 listed right now with the average price range from $9-$15.
Clothing is in the range of $50-$100 some are more, some less, loved to have take a look around.
free shipping.

Hi Claire,

Like most of the others I'm not totally abandoning Ebay yet, will keep my store for the moment, but only listing things every now and again.
I'm concentrating full time on my own website www.freudianslipsvintage.com I don't stock patterns, but lots of clothing and accessories and some couture quality pieces.

I sell on Tias as well as Ruby Lane and GoAntiques but enjoy having lots of avenues to shop for vintage clothing at. That is what is great about vintage. Not all copy cat stuff.

hey, Linda, as a happy Ruby Laner, its nice to see your idea of non-ebay items being accessed easier, if its possible :eureka:

*%# all this new fandangled computer stuff makes me crazy :BAGUSE:

Claire, we have women's & men's clothing & accessories in The Vintage Merchant, with our more "girly" accessories in Aaralyn's Velvet Dragonfly.

We also have a few patterns (all originals) in our vintage kitsch shop, And This And That (also on Ruby Lane). They range from $8 to $40; some are new-never used, others have been used, but still have all the pieces and have fun art on their fronts.
