If you could only find this..what would it be?.

I was thinking that there must be many vintage fashion items you would like to own if only you could find one, afford it or have room.

For me I would combine my interest in mechanical things with vintage and restore and run a stocking frame or knitting machine and just watch it clank away.
I think it is a little ironic how a big dirty and heavy piece of engineering can make such a fine and delicate item of material or clothing.
Dream on Paul, yours might be a little more pratical.

I would have a whole room dedicated to dozens of vintage mannequins all dressed in different eras, complete with accessories and everything. Kind of like my own personal museum.

This may be a little off subject, but I would like to have a large building with all my vintage in one place, all neatly hanging and categorized. One room would be a big photo studio and another room shipping, another room cleaning and repair, etc. Get the picture?

That might be the only wish every one here had in common.

I do like the museum idea wish that could be possible, just think of the money that would be needed

I'd like a pair of 18th century stays for my corset collection. Twice I've been within reach of them but both times, once I had a pair in my hands and had enough money (£1200!) to buy them but put the money towards paying off bills :( The second time was at an atiques fair where a well known UK dealer that I know snapped them up before I got to them!!!

Mine is very similar to Linda's, I collect vintage mannequins so I would love to have a room full of them all dressed in Ceil Chapman dresses, a designer which I have never had the luck to find, YET ;)
