I have the matching underdress.
I think I posted this in the thread about an auction I went to, but in a lot of clothes I bought, hidden under some other stuff, was an orange 20s underdress. In another lot was a wonderful deco print orange blouse, and I'm sure the 2 pieces had gotten separated in the lotting process. I even bid on the other lot, going high than I want in order to have the blouse! But, it went to someone else.
To make it worse, I was getting the underdress ready for eBay, and found a label, E.L. Mayer. It's not couture, but Edward Mayer was top of the line ready-to-wear. In the 1910, Mainbocher worked there as a sketcher, and in the 20s, Clare Potter was a designer there.
So if anyone sees a stray blouse, I'd appreciate a heads-up!
