Hello All.
I found these super cool shoes the other day and I am curious if anyone here knows any more about them. Specifically when they were made and where they were made. I found out Kerr's was a high-end sports shop in Beverly Hills, that a lot of celebrities frequented, including Elvis. I am fairly certain they are the Men's Sport Shoe Plain Toe model. You can see this in the photo of their catalog I found. Any more info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Cheers,
Drew V.

Those are fabulous quality Good year welted oxfords with whole cut uppers. You basically can't buy a better off-the-shelf quality shoe than this. Although most golf shoes are two-tone, I suspect these were made intentionally for golfing. Otherwise I don't know why a sportswear shop would be carrying a thick soled plain brown dress shoe. These are hard to date because the thick sole, which is typical of 1940s men's shoes was being made right through the 1950s and 1960s for golf shoes, so you could add spikes. The upper would suit 1950s, but they could even be 1980s. I bought a pair of Florsheims in 1987 that looked like they were made in 1947 - the styles are so classic they really don't change for decades. With trendier styles you get changes in toe shapes etc. but traditional styles like this were literally made on the same last by the same company for years and years.
