Info regarding when nylon took over rayon for nightdress and dating help

I have these two nightdresses (both thrift store finds). One is a nylon/rayon blend and the other just a heavy/satin-feel nylon. Would these date to the 50s? The nylon/rayon looks perhaps very late 40s ? I'm not sure when rayon went away and was replaced by nylon. Any help would be great! Thanks :)
