Information on Baani's California and Adini

Found a couple of dresses that brought me back to my college days in 1970. The VFG library doesn't show any labels. I know that some of you have other resources available and was wondering if you'd share something about either of these companies. Thanks.

Would the Adini label give you a clue as to when it was made?

That looks like the Adini label I remember from the early/mid 80s. It may well have been around before and after though. They were quite hippyish even in the 80s.

Looks like the R (registered trade mark) puts it after 1978 - Adini registered a trade mark then I see: http://www.ipo.gov.uk/tmtext/Results

I've just realised your Adini care label has an RN number. So it probably wasn't made to be sold in the UK, and the R may not be the UK trade mark registration. According to the company website, they sold in the US, before opening in the UK in 1978, so yours could perhaps be earlier.

The RN number on the Baani's label belonged/belongs to Destiny Imports. I will look for information about that importer.

The RN number dating formula shows approximately earliest possible date of manufacture for the Adini as 1974 and Baani's as 1976
