Hello! This is my first forum post, though I've often used VFS as a research in my vintage fashion hunts. I'm hoping the group can help solve a mystery.
Recently I purchased an early 40s gown from an online seller who didn't mention a maker or a label so I assumed the piece didn't have one. To my surprise, I found a label after I received it, for Rose Barrack New York. Does anyone have ANY information on this line? I've been surprised by the lack of information about this designer on the internet, as several surviving advertisements and fashion shoots suggest a designer working in the 40s whose work was not unknown or unvalued.
Any information would be appreciated. Is there any connection to designer Ben Barrack? Her full name may have been Rose Barrack Newman. I'm including a photo of the dress, as well as a photo of the label. Thanks in advance for the help!
P.S.: the photo of the dress is from the seller's store, so I should give credit to the photographer:
Photo of the label is my work.
