From the info on this site it looks like Rachel Ashwell, of Shabby Chic fame, has a soft spot for poofy vintage prom dresses.

There's something about the phrase "meticulously restored" that seems totally contradictory to the rest of that sentence.

I wouldn't say that a collection of 50 prom dresses is a unique idea -- I know two women who collect primarily vintage bridesmaid and prom dresses (and they have NICE ones! unlike Rachel's shabby nylon tulle ones that she dolls up with crap...)
