Interesting Trifari Necklace

Hello! I recently purchased this beautiful Trifari necklace from an estatesale. It was an online auction. So I dont have much more info other than it being Trifari. I can't seem to find any information on it. I feel like it is from the 1980s. Maybe a designer collaboration??? It has the Trifari stamp with the crown above the T. (Pictured)

Yes! I keep seeing similar styles of this type of necklace from the 80s. That clown motif was popular at that time. I think Trifari also had similar brooches.

This was my thought also. An artisan made piece using a marked piece.
Many pieces of jewelry were made similar to this in the 80s and 90s.
Especially the lady face.

That definitely crossed my mind when I tried to image search it. And nothing came up. Still a pretty unique piece though

Looks like the stones were glued in place .

My first though was Wendy Gell! I sold a lot of her pieces at a boutique I worked in the late 1980s.

I don't think they knew. I definitely think just saw "Trifari" and advertised it. But it is nice to know that it's more than likely a Wendy Gell piece. So odd that someone put that Trifari closure on it though.

I would put a round silver box clasp on it like the ones that Wendy Gell uses and sell it. They bring a good price. She has a website. She might even buy it from you.
