and how do you make squirrel sound sexy?

According to wikipedia the name comes from the Norman-Saxon 'Esquirel' which does sound more like a fur name!

It looks too plush for squirrel to me...Caryn will know!
 
I do like the sound of Esquirel. It is Russian Squirrel which feels very soft and mushy. It is very pretty and in French the Russian Squirrel is called l'écureuil russe which sounds nice too although if you called it that only those who knew French would understand it. :)

Is that the natural color?
 
I can't tell for certain if the color was enhanced from the photo but it does look like the natural color of Russian Gray Squirrel which is a muted brown with some gray in it. The belly of the Russian Gray Squirrel is yellowish white but yours does not show any of that coloration. Belly fur may not have been used or the color could have been matched to look like the rest. Also sometimes a darker color is added to create subtle darker stripes to look similar to mink or sable.
 
It's really difficult for me to tell online for sure. Sometimes you can tell with fur in hand when the skin is not the creamy or off white color it was originally because it takes on the color of the dye however sometimes you cannot see the skin, sometimes the dye is not dark enough to affect the skin color wise, and sometimes only the fur is dyed. It appears natural to me but again it's difficult for me to be sure based on what I see. If you do a quick google search for Russian Squirrel and you see the animal you will see that there are different types of squirrels and different colors.

Here's a Russian Squirrel fur blanket on eBay. The color appears to be a little lighter in the photos than yours but it really may not be as it may just be the lighting differential.
