Is my hat a cusper?

I think my black veiled Jacoll hat may be a late 40's- early 50's cusper, am I right? I've had a few Jacoll hats before but they have all been from the 1940's, this one seems slightly later than the other ones I've had.

I would say more 50s only because of the short veil. The shape is more typical 50s but you do see that style coming in around 1948, if it were closer fitting then I would go with 40s but its sits away from the head which looks more 50s to me. The shorter veils I associate with 50s more than 40s which tend to use full veils or longer veils. I would have guessed more 1950-56ish on the hat.

Nope, sent off those shoes yesterday but I will let you know if they want to return them!
