Is there a name for the fabric treatment on this 50/60s dress?

The dress is a black wool/wool blend that is a loose weave that you can see thru and then lined with a gold acetate fabric so that the fabric shows thru... Does anyone have any idea what the true terminology of this treatment is?

Well, it simulates the looks of pulled thread work. Open weave backed with contrast taffeta doesn't soudn too official, though.

Wow. I had this same dress awhile back!
Actually -- I think the cut was different, but the same fabric/weave with the nude lining.

I would maybe say something about it being a nude illusion weave.

Looking back, I wish I'd kept that dress. It *almost* fit me at the time, but I've lost weight since then. Other than being too tight, it was actually very flattering!

It is a really flattering dress but I've never had one with this type of treatment before. I went on a shopping/vacation trip and brought back all kinds of dresses - lots of wool items - and this is one of them. I just can't seem to find the right words to really explain the treatment.. open weave/nude weave sounds better than what I could come up with though...
