Is this 1960s? Brown maroon velvet suit by Hobbies Dallas

It has real Dr Zhivago feel to me. The underarms are wide and roomy, while the waist is very tight. The peplum hem is scalloped. Skirt is long and zips to the side. Tag says Hobbies Dallas. I feel early 60s? But could be 70s? Thanks!

I think the reason the underarms feel roomy is because the jacket is missing its shoulder pads. I'm seeing late 40s to 50s. Love that scalloping!

I agree - looks early 50s, to me. Could be 40s, but the feminine rolled collar strikes me as early 50s. Lovely!

You might be right about the shoulder pads! Cool! And yes, the scalloping is gorgeous! Does the tag give you a feel for the dating?

That is so pretty. I see late 40s early 50s as well.
I wonder how the skirt would look with a slight crinoline.
I keep seeing that sort of Dior New Look styling when I keep coming back to this.
