Is this 80s or 90s?

Hi! I have a dress made out of cotton and is a corduroy texture with a plastic zipper in the back. I'm not sure of the age...I found a similar dress on etsy saying it's from the 80s but the label looks really new to me. I'm not sure, I don't much about dating. What do you think? Thanks in advanced :)

This is so funny.
I was just going to post up my Laura Ashley dress before I saw this.
Don't know why my pic is sideways but I now have sort of clue as to what period I can put this one at.
It is also made of corduroy.

Cool.

I'm obviously not an expert but maybe it could be 80s as well? Since the shape is kinda like the one I posted.

Early 80s would fit with the lack of tumble dry on the patterned courduroy dress, as this symbol was added to the list in 1985.

In the Laura Ashley book there is a quote from LA herself about how she never catered to current tastes and her customers were not those seeking high fashion but reminiscent and some what old fashioned styles.

The differences I have found between 80s and the 90s Laura Ashley are the waist shape - V shape and straight drop waist tends to be 80s, the 90s waist tends to be at the natural wast but straight across and a looser fit. I find 80s LA fit one size smaller than current sizes (excepting the drop waist styles) whereas the 90s examples are much the same sizing as today.

I have another dress that I'm unsure of. It's a peplum style (I think) and has shoulder pads, which is why I thought it was 80s, but the shoulder pads are thin so I'm not sure if it's 90s. It's also acetate and has a tie back waist. Thanks in advanced!
