Is this a 40s day dresses?

Hi everyone,

Am I right on this? 40s day dress?

Late 50s I think, with its pleated skirt, soft shoulders and coin-size buttons, also the skinny belt and buckle. It could even be 1960ish. Its just conservative. That pattern is very 50s too as are the colourways of the dress. If it were 40s I would expect to see a stronger shoulderline, plain skirt, or pleated from the hips down, rather than the waist, the buckle would be a tad larger, the belt a bit wider and the buttons would be dark, or self material, and probably smaller.

It reminds me of the dresses that Perry Mason's secretary wore...
