Is this a 40s dress or did I miss the mark: Chapter 2

Hello expert panel,

Another dress....another guess.

Is this a 40s dress? I base my guess on the side zipper, front button closure, cut of dress, inverted "v" front pleat on skirt and front and back pleats that run from waist to shoulder.

How did I do this time? :scratchchin:

You are all so helpful. Is there a place to make a donation to this site or do you have reference materials that you sell to support this site?

Best regards,
Alice

I'm seeing early 1950s. Watch some of those old I Love Lucys and Mrs. Ricardo's wardrobe. 53ish.

But that's me.

You can just send it my way since it is giving you so many issues. What are the measurements on this beauty?

I would say early 50s on it.

Thank you once again Bycin for your feedback, good idea on the old Lucy's.

Thank you PodVintage, you gave me a good laugh.

Early 50s means I'm getting better at the "dating game"!!!

Here are your measurements:
shoulder seam to shoulder seam: 15"
Bust at underarm seam: up to 36"
Waist: up to 30"
Hips" 46" plus
Shoulder seam to waist seam: 15"
Total length of dress: 40 1/2"

Great dress!

Alice - there is a place to make a donation to the VFG. There is a button on the far right hand side of the main site that you can click on. You can get to the main site by clicking from this page - top left. It's the perfect way to say "thanks!" and support the Vintage Fashion Guild.

Thanks Linn, I will check it out.

This site a wonderful resource. I can't imagine trying to be involved in vintage fashion without it.
I would be chasing my tail, for sure, without it!
