Is this a 60\'s Chloe?

Couture made, incredible dress, but no label! Any input would be appreciated

I think Chloe was more conservative. If anything possibly Oscar De la Renta.

Does have a current feel to it without handling it I could not say.

What is the zipper tab marked as in the back and how is the dress finished on the inside - is there hem tape used? are the selvedges hand cast over?

Chloe (founded in 1952) was 'dedicated to the creation of soft, body conscious clothing cut from fine fabrics.'Karl Lagerfeld took over as head designer of Chloe in 1966. His designs for Chloe were described as 'romantic' using sheer and floaty fabrics. I remember these from the 70's but I don't recall designs from the 60's.

I must say that this dress or tunic doesn't seem to fit the bill. I also wonder why you think it is a Chloe design?

Hello All:
I think it's Chloe because I have seen similar but with plastic bubble domes over 3-D bead work, and same colours. Anyhoo Jonathan, I was hoping you would see this and help me out.... The zipper is a riri and the lining is silk and completly encloses all seams. Hope this helps, i can find zero books on Chloe's history.......Thanks!!

Hello Everyone;
After months of research I'm still coming up empty handed on who designed this wonderful work of art. Any thoughts, anyone? I'm really itchy thinking about it!

I think riri is Swiss, but I have seen them used in Italian clothes I believe... maybe its by someone like Galitzene who had a Russian background but worked out of Italy. The heavy embroidery on the heavy wool reminds me of Russian styles for some reason. It doesn't look like anything I have seen coming out of France in the late 1960s that I can think of.
