Is this a genuine 60's dress?

I bought this bright green dress with big plastic zip as an original "go go" dress from the 60's but I am not so sure - it is in amazing condition, no label and material very thick,

probably polyester and has a wide, white plastic zip down the front. Presumably not mass produced as no sign of any label and well made. Lined in silky fabric.

It reminds me very much in of a 90s 'space' style sun dress I have, which is also neon (orange), with a very chunky nylon zip, and a bit retro 60's in style. The only thing holding me back on saying your dress is 90's is the lining, which looks as though it might be sewn in by hand. Can you check this?
It doesn't strike me as home sewn so I would expect some labels. I would have a good close look at the seams to see if any labels have been removed. It could have been cut, or the stitches cut and the label totally removed from the seam. Those two lines of holes either side of the lining back seam look as though there was a label sewn there.

Dear Melanie,

The lining is sewn in by hand but I must say that the dress looks professionally made otherwise. Also I think you may be right about the label - I just thought that the lines were faults in the material! They seem the right size for a label - the only thing is that there does not seem to be the slightest trace of one and the lines still seem perfect, but that is possible I suppose! Do you know anything about the 90's dress (if it is that!)

I'm inclining towards a '60s revival style in the '90s too, despite the nice lining. These '60s dresses were usually more shapeless and empire line busts aren't the standard. It's well made though. Wish people wouldn't remove labels, they reveal a lot of info.

Have you checked the interior side seams for more labels? It does look professionally made and there should be some.

tough to tell for sure on this one. the closeups of the fabric look right for 60s polyester, and it was thick. i thought the zipper would tell the story, but it doesn't. the fact that it once had a label and that the lining is handstitched throws me off of 60s and into 60s revival territory.
