Is this Armani vintage?

I found this Giorgio Armani dress. Can anyone help date it?

Thanks so much!

You can have the tag, too. Should I put it on the other thread?

That is a difficult one. Something about it makes me think late 70s, but on the other hand I can see more recent like 90s.

Lotta help, huh? :puzzled:

In person, it looks older- its pilled & faded, sort of, etc. But, that just could be the material, too. It feels like a wool blend.

But, on the Ebay boards I'm on, they don't think its terribly vintage, either.

The tag looks a little older and there's no content tag or RN#. There is one other little frayed, faded tag at the bottom that just has an L on it.

It looks so Hippie to me, but I'm in the minority. ;)

I'm going to go against the tide here... not only does that label look like nothing I've seen Armani use from the mid-80's forward, the dress itself looks pre-80's to me. The soft shoulder, the soft shape -- it all looks like a precursor to his quintessential Power Eighties looks.

The only oddball detail is the "L" size tag. Even today that would be unusual even for the American market for anything but T shirts or similar sport apparel. Everything carries either Italian and/or US dress sizes.

It looks late 70's or very early 80's to me (hey, I'm not afraid to guess wrong :D )

I'm brand new here...so I haven't read anything else in these forums to know whether you all like Ebay, use Ebay, hate Ebay, give selling tips...LOL Can I post a link here? Let me know if not and I'll pull this post. Here's my running auction. Do you like the way I styled the dress or do I need a live model? Should I mention that I think its from before 1985, say?

I would have asked before the auction was running, but someone just told me about this site!

Thanks for the input so far and for any other advice!
