Is this brocade????

Hello again

I’m struggling to describe the fabric of this Kitty Copeland maxi dress - it’s pale turquoise background with what looks like embroidery, possible appliqué and raised (almost puffy) elements in silver and other shades of blue.

Is this brocade?? Or is there some other technical term for this fabric?

Whilst I’m at it any thoughts on dates - I’m thinking 60s, but perhaps 70s based on the plastic zip?

Yes, it is a metallic brocade, and I date it to the 1960's. The silver threads are Lurex and the weave is a matelasse. I love the colors!
