Is this collar Edwardian?

Hi,

Could you confirm that this collar is Edwardian? Or, could it be earlier? The neck hole is 13" around. Would that fit a woman or a girl?

Thank you!

Hi,

Very pretty! I am getting a feeling this is later than Edwardian. Can you show a close up of the lace and embroidery? What are the buttons made of? Does it slip over the head or unbutton all the way down in back?

It has four small mother-of-pearl buttons down the back, but the actual closure is a snap at the top and bottom. I am attaching another picture....

It's Very Hard to say. In style, it could be mid 1890s, Edwardian, or even 1940s. The snaps lead me toward 1940s.

I agree with Nicole and Hollis, that it is more likely to be 1940s. A 13 inch neck is very small, the average ladies neck is more usually 14 upwards, but on the very slim and fine boned or petite its not unknown. .
The yoke looks to deep to be a girls size in my opinion.
Oh I should have said- its very pretty!
