Is this dress 1920s or is it earlier?

I bought a few dresses as an estate sale Saturday and most of them I can quickly identify as 1920s. This one looks a bit older to me. What is your opinion?

Luck you, how wonderful. I can't help but think that it isn't from the teens as the neckline is very rounded, in my opinion.

Is there a term for the pleated panels that go down either side of the dress in front?

What a lovely dress. I agree with late 1920s. I call those "floating panels" but there may be a more definitive term.

Beautiful dress ! I'd say the earliest would be 26' but would say later.
I would say knife pleating. They used tgat aot in dresses starting in 1926
