Is this hat a Dobb's Hat

Recently while clearing out my mother-in-law's closet with her she showed me a Dobbs hat box with her mother's hat inside. Upon researching the box I see that it is an original and in very good shape. The hat inside, which she remembers her mom wearing when she was a young girl, does not have a label on it and I was wondering if anyone can tell me if this might be a Dobb's hat. I have more pictures if needed.

Hello. Yes please do show us further pictures of the hat. (any labels, lining, construction detail, views from several angles) I would say however my first impression is that box was made for a larger/more ornate hat than the one you have shown, so it may just have been stored in it.

Hi,

Hmmm. The man's hat box is wonderful and in great shape, a good find. The box is about 1950s or possibly early 1960s. I cannot see the hat in your photo very well, but it looks like a much newer hat from the 1980s or 1990s. It does not look like a Dobbs hat. If you show the interior we can tell more, but I suspect the box is more valuable than the hat!
