Is this Hawaiian Shirt Vintage or not?

It's a hawaiian shirt made of Rayon, with the label in the picture.

it does appear to be 1940s, from first looks. how are the seam finishes? pinked? french? serged? is there a loop underneath the left collar point, by any chance? button holes horizontal? or vertical? plastic buttons?

The seam finishes are french, there is a loop under the left collar point, button holes are vertical and buttons are plastic.

i'd say you've got yourself a 40s aloha shirt. love the colorway.

since the fabric wasn't matched on the pocket placement, i was thinking the buttonholes would probably be vertical, (better they be horizontal) but still, with the long collar points, loop and great fabric, you've got yourself a great little shirt there!

do you have a photo of one of the buttons? they may have been replaced over the years...

you're very welcome.

without handling it, i'm not comfortable giving an estimation...for these shirts the major concern is condition, and included in that are the underarms...the rayon can be very adept at capturing body odors, so that would be a first area to check.

i would suggest checking ebay's finished auction prices, although they can vary wildly there...there are a few aloha shirt specialists that do seem to shop there regularly still, so you may do well there with it.

I believe this is the 50s National Shirt Shops label. I'd date your vintage shirt into the 1950s.
