Is this Leather Cowhide Bag circa 70s?

While I realize this weekender bag has some issues I love it. I have seen the style but I have not seen any exactly like this. I think this bag is circa 70s but I would feel more confident if you could take a look and provide your opinion.

The inside has a tag that reads All leather Made in Paraguay.

I think that's more 90s. It's completely gorgeous but not 70s.

I'm not much help on date- although there is something about that clasp- it's the type you push down and slide out isn't it? that doesn't 'feel' 70's but I could be wrong, I'm sure others will be by soon. Anyway, just wanted to say how much i love it! Do let me know when you sell it.

totally 90s. it's the lining, the hardware, the elongated zipper pull, plus it was the style rage in inexpensive import/export luggage in the 90s. i should clarify, in the country of origin (Paraguay) it would have been quite inexpensive, however if it was an imported item, i'm sure the seller pumped up the price pretty dramatically.

Mary, Thank you. That is great information and is so helpful. You see when I got this bag I knew I loved it but was unsure of dating so I started researching vintage bags for sale and the many being offered as 70s bags had the same hardware, strap, armhandles, and style. Of course the sellers were not VFG members and I did not want to list as such just because I saw others doing it. I wanted to be sure.

And so if I understand correctly if this item were purchased in the 90s in it's country of origin one could have bought it inexpensively however if imported in the US or another country one may have paid much more money.

Now that the three of you shared your opinions and knowledge with me I will be able to list it accurately.
