I agree that the scarf looks like it's from the '50's and may be. Occupied Japan refers to the time period from 1945 (After WWII) through April 25, 1952 when the Allies "occupied" Japan. (per Google.) It's possible that it's later than 1952 and that "Sherry" had the label and used it later than April 1952.
When I have a souvenir scarf, I look up the attractions shown on the scarf on the Internet. You can get info on when they were built and if they went out of business, if they were not natural sites.
Sunny, funny you should mention that....I did look up Marineland as I figured that had been 'fairly' recent....turns out it was around in the late 30s and one of the original 'founders' was Leo Tolstoy's grandson! apparantly his involvement made it a 'fashionable destinatio'!
