Is this shirt on cardboard new, or just newly dry-cleaned?

So -- I feel a bit silly asking this, but I can't tell if this is how a new shirt was sold, or how it would come back from the cleaners. I'm leaning toward the latter but thought some of you would know for sure. Thanks!

Thanks! Do they still do this? Is it only fancier places, or is this common? I've never seen a shirt returned like this, though admittedly I do very little dry cleaning.

Yeah, the polo theme is cool, and it's also very nice Italian cotton!

Wow, boxed! I've only ever seen the hanger treatment.

It is very smooth silky cotton. So I'm thinking 70 -- does this seem right? I am lousy at menswear.

Wow, I'm going to have to get something dry-cleaned just so I can ask for that :)

And I meant 70s, not 70!
