Is this sweater 40s or 50s? And boucle or chenille?

So, I'm thinking this nice sweater is late 40's -- but maybe it's 50's. It doesn't have the wide band at the bottom, but then the cut struck me as 40's. I could use your opinions!

Also I was thinking of it as boucle (it's definitely wool), but then I started to wonder what the difference is between boucle and chenille, and then I began to feel confused about which it is....

I would call it a boucle wool. These are a little difficult to date...but I would go with 40s on it.
