Is this Van Raalte garment a robe? A nightgown? 60s? Confused!

Another Vann Raalte -- I guess this is a nightgown since it doesn't unbutton all the way, but it looks more like a robe... it's full-length and is trimmed with embroidered floral ribbon. And is it 60s? Or a bit earlier? I am really at sea with this one, so appreciate any aid. Thanks!
