Is this vintage prom dress 50\'s or 60\'s? What is the \'style/cut\' called?

Hey everyone!

I absolutely fell in love with this dress! It's SO sweet & in absolute mint condition! Any ideas if it's 50's or 60's? Also, which pic of the dress looks better? 1st or 2nd?

Thanks!
DDL

That looks like a yellow damask bubble or balloon skirt dress...but are your mannis arms supporting it and making it look poufier than it is? Maybe i am wrong.

I am not sure it is saying prom to me (this years anyway, it just seems a bit conservative for that for me), it is saying more spring/summer cocktail dress to me, but give it a shot.

I would definitely put prom in the title and it is a 50s balloon dress. I have a polka dot one up now that doesn't have as much pouf as that. Yellow is the color this Spring, too! Nice dress.:)

I was going by the late 50s because these were identified as such.

Harriet, that is interesting. I will have to search for tulip skirt.
