It\'s Time for the Kentucky Derby...(Purse)

...and its time to bring out my Vintage Kentucky Derby painted novelty basket purse!

Today's the day! Its an annual occurrence....or actually...it is turning out to be...

(but you will have to wait in suspense until it is officially Saturday here...because it wouldn't be right to show you before its official.)

...and this year i am not staying home and listing...i will actually have an equine art show to carry it too!

:headbang:

I am going to be really thick and ask, is this weekend really the kentucky derby??

I'm clueless!! :BAGUSE:

Yep, it's tomorrow. Time to watch all the ladies in their sometimes outrageous chapeaus....time to increase awareness for the drive to increase starting weights for jockeys and the Hoofed Humane Society, but more importantly...to see my purse, right? LOL

We just came back from a derby party, got our mint juleps and our derby glasses. since we had the most fake money at the end from fake betting, we won a neat prize...a deluxe hotel package, horse farm tour, dinner at a fancy resaturant and a guided tour on horseback. YAY! guess we'll have to leave the pups home

That sounds like a lot of fun, and congratulations on the great prize.

I have a horse racing bag that I'm getting ready to sell on Babylon Mall. It didn't even occur to me to try and sell it in time for the Derby.

Lizzie

Lizzie, i gotta see that! (you might even have a pre built in buyer LOL)

I have a black leather handbag with painted race horses on it and then my derby bag.

it's not too late...the triple crown is still going on. the preaknes and the belmont are still coming up, but not quite the fashion extravaganzas historically.

Oh, and its not vintage but i have a novelty print hats dress that i should have put up too. I will in the next few days though.

You could also target British Derby day!

And then there's the Prix de l'arc de triomphe...

When's Royal Ascot??

(mmmm mint juleps)

Alright Chris!! Quit stalling and get that purse up on these boards!! What are you trying to do, make me quackers????:roll:

:) ~Maureen

Alright Maureen...

I won't make you wait any longer.
Its from Kentucky Derby 100..so that would make it 1975 or 76. (as there was a skip year at one point, so it wouldn't have been the 100th year chronologically) The horse on the top and roses on the front are both seperate/3 d pieces and it has the names of all the triple crown winners painted on the top.

:wow::wow::wow::wow::wow:

Very Sweeeeeeet!!!

It's like Dorothy went to the Kentucky Derby instead of Oz!! :P (and Toto wasn't a cairn terrier, he was a dauchound) yea, spelling sucks!

I will rest easy tonight knowing that I have now seen your KD purse.

:asleep:

:hiya: Maureen

Preakness and Belmont coming up.

Kenny had strep so we stayed home this weekend. Had to watch the Kentucky Derby though. Got on Epicurious and made us both mint juleps, his was sans Bourbon. Yummy!

What else did you wear?
