Dear All,

I don't know if anybody can help me, but I strongly hope so.

I come from Italy and I've found in my grandma wardrobe a Jacques Heim coat which I'm attaching picture of. I think it is made of silk with leather finishings and belt.

Inside the coat there's another label "PAULE COUTURE MONTE CARLO" where I think the coat has been effectively bought.

Is it of any fashion or vintage value or whatever can you tell me woul be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Lorena

Lorena,

That is a fabulous dress, and I love the print and the buttons. We cannot give $$ values here on the VFG Forums, but what I can say it is of course of value to those who collect French Haute Couture, as Heim was one of the great ones. A very nice find from your grandmother indeed!

Fabulous find in your grandmother's closet, she had great taste. It looks 60s to me and it's most interesting to see his hallmark fox logo as the print of the coat and even the buttons. I would agree the other label would have been the shop in Monte Carlo.

In the sixties, many stores bought couture garments from the couture houses because there was no French ready-to-wear. Often the stores had specific clients in mind when they made purchases. Sometimes the garments are very haute couture, sometimes there are some insignificant shortcuts.
I hope you can wear the coat; it is splendid!

A big THANK YOU to all of you !!! It is awesome to receive such info regarding my coat as I really lack of any knowledge regarding Jacques Heim.
I like the coat a lot, but I really don't feel at ease while wearing it.
It is not ME...
I am really beset within keeping it only for sentimental reasons or selling it to somebody who can really appreciate it more than I can do...
