Looking for some more information on this jacket by jane guilhen puylagarde I know she was a fashion designer in the 1980s. I also literally can not find any of her clothing online, only her art work. So if anyone can tell me anything like also the date of the jacket, I am guessing it is 80s but just some clarification. Also if what I have is possible a good find. Regardless it’s a beautiful jacket it has tails at the back and shoulder pads and is made of laine wool Wolle ? Sheep’s wool ? Thanks appreciate any info

You may have already seen THIS New York Times article from March 1986?
A relevant excerpt:
"But the most exciting collection was that of Jane Guilhen-Puylagarde, a young political-scientist-turned-designer with a refreshing disregard for conventional dressmaking. Her clothes have hems that dip and ripple to uneven lengths, panels that can be drawn through the legs or wrapped around the body, pants with feet, fitted coats with buttons that form a giant L, and a flaring double cape attached to a jacket. The cuts may be strange, but the fabrics and workmanship looked first-rate. Dresses will cost about $450 in the United States, the cape about $1,200."

Despite her positive review, it doesn't appear that her fashion design business ever got off the ground. THIS seems to indicate she was only in the retail clothing business from 1984-87.

Yes I did find this article actually last night also after more digging. she did end up becoming an artist her art sells for up to $25000. This would perhaps explain why I can’t find any of her clothing online then also if that was the case.
