Jeanne Lanvin dress ?

Hi! I have a lovely brown velvet dress with some very unique open weave lame' work. It has a Adaptation Jeanne Lanvin 22 Faub St Honore' Paris label at the back, then down on a inside seam another label that says "copyright" with a number. Its my understanding that this was a original Jeanne Lanvin design that was copied & made here in the states. Does that sound right ??? Many thanks!!
 
That sounds about right. It may be more accurate to say she supervised or approved the designs, or perhaps sold the design to the manufacturer. But it would have been made in the US. I am not sure what the Canadian version of the Adaptation label was.

Thank you for your replies, sorry, I have trouble posting pictures. The Adaptation label is exactly the same as one you have posted on your website (I think its listed on a 40s or 50s suit). Wondered if Johnathan had any info on this label to add. Thanks!
